MORE COMMON MEDICINAL Herbs and THEIR Properties:

Alfalfa: Excellent source of vitamins and minerals and are rich in calcium, magnesium, phosphorous, potassium and almost all known vitamins.

Chamomile: As an herbal infusion (or tea), this is an excellent herb for relaxation and some tension reduction. Also great for easing colic and teething pains in infants, (as well as us adults!)

Coriander: Coriander leaves are a popular Indian household remedy for digestive upsets and urinary tract infections.

Dandelion: Leaves are rich in potassium. They are used as an effective diuretic, often used for fluid retention, as well as being a useful digestive tonic.

Echinacea: Whenever there is an infection - viral, bacterial or fungal - this herb, Echinacea has a role. Ideal choice for colds, flu, sore throats, and some viral based Arthritis.

Garlic: It is a good respiratory antiseptic for chest infections, colds and flu. It also helps in reducing blood cholesterol levels. It is the most popular over-the-counter remedy available today.

Ginger: This is a very warming herb, so be careful of using it if you have sensitivity to "heat" or "flushing". Its is a good circulatory stimulator, and ideal for colds and chills. Has an infinity as being the perfect remedy to help reduce nausea, travel and morning sickness.

Peppermint: Ideal for use as an infusion for "after over-indulgence" of a meal to help settle the stomach, also good for cold remedies, for aches and pains and for some types of headaches.

Sage: Has wonderful antiseptic properties for use with sore throats and mouth ulcers as a warm gargle. It has an infinity with the female reproductive system also.

Water Cress: Rich in vitamin C and minerals, watercress is an ideal tonic for anemia.
